IULM- Libera Università Di Lingue E Communicazione
IULM is an absolutely beautiful campus. You spend most of your time in the building in the picture above. There are many different levels inside, luckily there is an escalator that will take you up to each level. On a typical day class began at 10:00 then we would get a 15 minute break at around 11:15. After the break we would go to lunch. I would suggest going to the Cafeteria. It was cheap and had a lot of different (delicious) options! After lunch we were expected to return at 2:00 and we would finally finish up around 4:00 or 4:30. It was such an honor to be taught by Professors that were so experienced in the class they taught.
Fashion and Design CourseThe second week of school we discussed fashion and design. This was a course that was foreign to me. I have never been interested in fashion, design, or marketing. I didn't really know what to expect, but in the end it turned out pretty interesting. Our Professor was an expert on anything and everything fashion and design (trust me there is a difference!) He has had the opportunities to work with major designers such as Prada. Armani, Dolce and Gabbana, and so many more! We were assigned to different groups and each group had a fashion designer they were suppose to research, visit their store, and create a PowerPoint about their specific fashion designer. On two of the days we had the opportunity to go into actual high end stores. It was such an awesome experience. After this course I feel as though I am a more well-rounded student.

Italian Language CourseThis was the first class of the first week. The course was taught by two different Professors. The first day they taught together then throughout the rest of the week we only had one at a time. They were both amazing and genuine and stuck with us when it got rough. This was an interesting course to me and it took me back to my years of Spanish classes in High School. We went over the basic greetings, time, food, and other certain phrases they thought we would like to know in order to communicate with locals. Friday we spent our last class taking an exam. The professors didn't expect us to know everything and we were also allowed to use notes and our worksheets. It was such a helpful course and I'm glad I had to opportunity to learn more about the Italian Language!

Food and Wine Course
They definitely saved the best course for last. They did an excellent job explaining to us the importance of Italian food and how different their diet is from America, which was truly interesting. There were two days where we got to taste test and then later in the week we were taken to a 5 star restaurant. The restaurant was truly extravagant and it was such a good experience for us! Then on Friday we were taken to a vineyard from 9-5:30. This course made me open my eyes a little more. I was introduced to a different cultures food, and let me tell you, Italians take their food very serious. I kind of got the sense that they like quality, sit down meals. Besides the rare sighting of a McDonalds, there was hardly any other fast food restaurants in Milan. This course has made me rethink my diet and motivated me to spend more time cooking as opposed to going to fast food restaurants.
